Big watches ≠ Big Prices

Big watches are big news, and big-ly fashionable. (I cringed too.) You only have to watch the Grand Prix to see that there are some seriously big watches out there. Or if you’d rather not watch the Grand Prix on account of it being really quite dull, you can just take my word for it.
Sadly for those of us who get fined for driving quickly instead of being paid millions of pounds to do it, big watches normally come with equally large price tags – but not at mookau. We have these rather impressive timepieces in now for the equally impressive price of a mere £34.99, so you can get the look and keep both kidneys. The 10p isn’t included by the way, it’s just so you can tell how big the watch is.

Back to school with mookau and the Mr Men

We’ve got some lovely Mr Men stationery in at mookau at the moment, perfect for going back to school. This Little Miss Sunshine pencil case is my personal favourite.

Trim Phones back in stock

Our classic trim phones proved very popular, and now we have them back in stock. These are a perfect replica of the 1970′s design classic, except the dial is now made up of circular buttons so you don’t have to wait ages for the pulses to go through if you are dialling a 0. (Those of you born after about 1980 will have no idea what I’m on about – be grateful. Imagine trying to dial up to buy concert tickets because no-one has bothered to invent the internet, and each time you get the engaged tone having to dial the number again because no-one has invented last number re-dial either, probably because they’ve been too busy trying to use the phone. Worst of all every digit you dialled has to send the right number of clicks – 1 click for 1, 2 clicks for 2 and so on, and 10 clicks for 0)
Ah, I’m back in the room. I got the tickets in the end you’ll be glad to hear. The point is it’s much easier these days, and this trimphone has last number redial and tone dialling, so you can’t help but love it.

We have spent the last few days slowly working our way around the hundreds of stands that make up the Home and Gift trade show in Harrogate. I always think the trade shows are a little like prospecting – you have to sift through a lot of sand and grit before you find gold.
This time, as well as seeing all the exciting new things our existing suppliers have, we picked up a couple of really exciting new suppliers, including Martine Wester jewellery. We should be getting our first delivery of Martine Wester in early September, and we can’t wait. Already this month Martine Wester has been mentioned in the style guides of New! and Grazia magazines, and has been worn by such disparate musical talents as Sarah Harding and Florence Welch.

We love Disaster Designs here at mookau, every season they bring out something amazing, and this season is no exception. We know you’re big fans of the Moomin bags and the Paper Plane travel theme bags from Disaster that we sell, and now we have their latest ‘Hello Sailor’ range in too. Perfect for lazy summer days by the sea.

Super stools

We’ve been waiting for these amazing stools to come in for ages, and they are here at last.
Each stool has four non-slip rubber feet, and would make the perfect finishing touch to any child’s room, or as a footstool for resting tired tootsies at the end of the day.
The toadstool is slightly taller at about 35cm. The apple is about 30cm.
We have very limited stock of these though, so if you want one you need to hurry!

Beads that are beautiful, and a bargain

If you haven’t been in mookau in the last week or so, you won’t have seen our fabulous new beads. Well, as if new beads in themselves weren’t incentive enough to come to your favourite gift boutique, we now have them available at 3 for £10. It’s the perfect excuse to fill your bracelet, or just to freshen yours up a bit. Our beads all fit on Pandora bracelets, and we think they look just as good. In fact the only difference we can see is that ours are 3 for £10! We have loads of different colours and styles to choose from, here is just a little sample (excuse the poor picture quality, I’ve only got my phone camera with me today!) 
Mothers Day Chocolates

It’s Mothers Day on March 14th this year, and we’ve got everything you need to make your mum smile here at mookau, including a fabulous range of Juciy Lucy cards and this rather amazing chocolate. I can personally vouch for the chocolate being very nice as I *cough* accidentally broke one so I had to eat it.
