It’s feeling distinctly spring-like outside at the moment – and it’s only a matter of weeks until the clocks go forward, and the days get longer. Hooray for spring!
And on top of all that, we have yet more lovely treats new in stock here at mookau. My absolute favourite is the new Hotch Potch range from Disaster Designs, the people behind our now near iconic ‘It’s Darling’ range of bags and accessories. The quirky designs and contrasting mix of colours and fabrics and textures make these bags almost irresistable. Go on, treat yourself!
Baby Goodies!

Maybe it’s because we’re having our own little mookau baby in June – maybe it’s because they’re just so very adorable – but there’s some fabulous new baby gifts now in at mookau.
First of all, we have the rather delicious Boo Boo Baby range of baby pampering goodies. There’s gift sets to suit every budget, featuring such wonderful products as soothing bottom butter, very gentle top to toe wash and soft and splashy bubbles. Gorgeously packaged, they are also full of natural ingredients that are kind to baby’s skin – no parabens, petrochemicals, sulhpates, synthetic colours, TEA or DEA. Hooray!
Next up are these delightful hand made leather shoes from Inch Blue. There are several designs to choose from, each one handmade in the UK using scrummy soft leather. They come gift boxed, and matching babygro and shoe sets are also available. I just wish they did them in adult sizes!
And last, but by no means least, is this adorable range of baby clothes from Bonnie Baby. Available in pink, blue or grey with gorgeous rainbow stripes, you can keep your little one fully co-ordinated, with matching playsuits, hats and blankets (and booties to follow soon!)
Made from 100% supersoft knitted cotton, this range is wonderfully breathable against baby’s skin, and will keep him cosy in the winter, and cool in the summer (should we ever get one, that is!) It’s machine washable too – so practical as well as gorgeous!
Potato!

You learn a lot from children. One of the things I have learned from them is that if you keep saying the word ‘potato’ over and over again, it eventually becomes very funny, especially if you elongate the last ‘o’. It’s not going to change the world admittedly, but they’re only children – give them time. They may be saying ‘potato, potato, potato, potato, potato, potato’ today, but one day you’ll wake up to find them working out the finer points of String Theory on their bedroom wall, and then the best you can hope for is that they have done it with washable ink.
Anyway – where was I? Potatoes I think. Everyone loves them, and the only thing potato shaped that’s better than a potato is Mr Potato Head! Here at mookau we now how in some brilliant Mr Potato Head cards. Each card has a naked picture of a potato on it, and comes with a range of stickers for you to make your own Mr (or Mrs) Potato Head. The stickers are peelable so you can re-arrange them or change your design if you realise to your horror that your creation has gone beyond a caricature and actually does look like the person you are sending it to. There are plenty of spare stickers too, so the lucky recipient can customise their card. We also have Mr Potato Head wrapping paper to match, featuring a range of Potato Heads. Please note that we don’t sell actual potatoes.

Give yourself this Valentine’s!

It can be hard finding an original gift for the love of your life at Valentines. Flowers and perfume are soooo predictable – and does your boyfriend really need some silk boxer shorts or more aftershave?
So why not give them a perfect reminder of the love of their life (we mean you!) with a Youdoodoll! There’s still a few vital shopping days left for those all important last minute gift purchases. Aunty Doris just announced she’ll be popping in for a sherry on christmas day? Suddenly remembered you’ve forgotten to get something for your brother’s new girlfriend? No fear, mookau is here, and open right up to christmas eve. We then re-open on Saturday 27th December for some much needed retail therapy after the excesses of christmas. Full opening hours here –

Later Opening at mookau

It’s getting nearer to Christmas now – so to help you out we’re opening later on Wednesdays and earlier on Sundays – so you can call in on your way home from work on Wednesday, or on your way out on Sunday.
We are now open 10am to 8pm on Wednesday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday. We’re open from 10am to 6pm all other days as usual.
