We have spent the last few days slowly working our way around the hundreds of stands that make up the Home and Gift trade show in Harrogate. I always think the trade shows are a little like prospecting – you have to sift through a lot of sand and grit before you find gold.
This time, as well as seeing all the exciting new things our existing suppliers have, we picked up a couple of really exciting new suppliers, including Martine Wester jewellery. We should be getting our first delivery of Martine Wester in early September, and we can’t wait. Already this month Martine Wester has been mentioned in the style guides of New! and Grazia magazines, and has been worn by such disparate musical talents as Sarah Harding and Florence Welch.

We’ve been blessed with some lovely sunny weather here over the last few days – summer is on it’s way, woohoo!

Aw look, it’s a giraffe!

I love giraffes, and I love fun jewellery, so a giraffe necklace is just my thing – especially when it sparkles and delights like these.
And of course, a giraffe necklace is so much better than a necklace for a giraffe, which would surely never sit right – and if you have spotty fur you probably don’t need accessories anyway.
Hultquist Autumn/Winter 08 Collection

You’d hardly know it, but high summer is here! Given that it feels decidedly autumnal at the moment, the preview of the new Hultquist collection for Autumn & Winter that we had at the weekend seemed rather perfectly timed…
And what a great collection it is! Leather is going to be huge for jewellery this coming season, and there’s some fabulous leather cuffs and bracelets with a distinctly designer feel to them that are bang on trend. Last years “Kiss The Frog” collection proved so popular, they’ve revived the theme with “Frogs In Love” – a wonderfully quirky yet very wearable range, and for the first time, this season there’s a selection of hair accessories too – not to mention a stunning chain-mail bag that’s just the right size for anything a girl might need on a night out!

Our spring/summer Hultquist range finally arrived this week! And as you can see from the pictures below, it’s every bit as fabulous as you’d expect. This season’s collection is distinctly feminine, with Orla Kiely inspired designs, bright colours, and bird and butterfly motifs. I know I promised new Hultquist a couple of weeks ago, but due to supply chain issues it’s not going to be here for another few days yet. Boo!! But, never fear, a new, equally fab, equally stylish jewellery range has landed at mookau today, and I’m in love with it already! Girls & Pearls mixes funky colours and floral designs, and with prices starting at £8.99, it doesn’t break the bank either.
